What is Canal Walk?

Canal Walk is a collection of 67 homes set within Rodley Nature Reserve, between the Leeds & Liverpool Canal and the River Aire. The development offers one- to four-bedroom homes in a peaceful waterside setting, just a short distance from Leeds city centre.

Canal Walk stands out for its unique waterside setting within an established community, offering the feel of a more peaceful, natural environment while remaining close to both Leeds city centre and other local amenities.

We expect to welcome the first residents from early 2027 onwards.

Homes will be released for sale in autumn 2026.

Canal Walk is 4 miles from Leeds City Centre with the shortest route being a canal side walk, which also makes for great cycle access. Driving it’s round 5.5 miles and for public transport, it takes around 30 minutes by bus.

There are lots of available local activities from the Nature Reserve to Paddle Boarding  and the local cricket club. Canal Walk is also a great place to start a walk or cycle down the Leeds Liverpool Canal, either into Leeds or out into the countryside.

Most local amenities are all in walking distance including independent cafés, the popular Tiny Tea Room, local pubs and the nearby cricket club.

The local area also includes several highly rated primary schools all within easy reach of the new homes, along with a selection of respected secondary schools and sixth form colleges in the wider Leeds area.

Personalisation options are available depending on the build stage at the time of reservation, including choices such as kitchens, floorings and bathrooms. For homes reserved later in the build process, some specifications may already be fixed, but please enquire to find out more.

Homes at Canal Walk are designed to be highly energy efficient and are expected to achieve strong EPC ratings (details TBC). Features include ground source heat pumps and high levels of insulation to help reduce energy use and running costs.

All the homes are covered by a premium 10-year building warranty provided by Advantage.

Leeds Railway Station is a short 15-minute drive from Canal Walk providing access across West Yorkshire by train. Other easily accessible destinations include Bradford City Centre which is also around a 15-minute drive.

Canal Walk is around 4 miles from Leeds city centre, with walking and cycling routes along the canal. By car, it’s approximately 5.5 miles, and bus journeys typically take around 30 minutes.

Kirkstall Forge and Horsforth stations are both within a short drive (around 6–8 minutes), with Leeds station around 15 minutes away, offering direct services to cities including Manchester, London and York. Leeds Bradford Airport is also nearby, approximately a 10-minute drive from the development, providing international connectivity.

The bridge is designed to be simple to operate and takes around seven minutes to open and close.
